Hi! My name is Brooke and I am an oil painter and tattoo artist. I work at First Class Tattoos in Lower East Side, Manhattan.
I am originally from Bakersfield, CA and also spent a good portion of my life living in WA state. My journey as an artist began at infancy- often forgetting crayons in a sweltering car and drawing on anything I could find. I discovered oil painting in high school- many thanks to my wonderful teacher at that time who introduced me to the lovely medium and I haven’t put it down since. After I graduated with my BFA in painting, I unfortunately fell into the corporate trap and went into banking. I spent several years climbing the finance ladder and landed a successful career on Wall St- this is how I got to NYC. After about a year I said f*ck that- I had no sense of self and I had no grasp on my identity as an artist...or at all for that matter. I quit my job and asked for an apprenticeship at First Class Tattoos. Fast forward to today- Im proud to say that I am a tattoo artist based in NYC. I am overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible artists, for all of the clients who have trusted me with their body art, and those who have supported my pursuit as an artist over the years. Y’all are incredible <3
